Avaleci is the island the God-Beasts visited just after the new year. The side with the volcano had a shrine at it's base, where a ritual binding held a fire-beast enslaved. Destroying the seal carved into the ground around it was difficult but it was destroyed. In the time since, this venerable one visits to see if there is evidence of the fire-beast returning or if someone has attempted to use the shrine again.

This venerable one seeks to measure the ambient power levels at the shrine and at points in the sulfur fields that lead into the shrine. First without this venerable one's presence, and then with his presence.

[He'd been attempting to bind the volcano to his spiritual presence so he could draw on it's power, but he hadn't made a lot of headway on it. And he wanted to see if there was something blocking that might be able to be measured in general ambient power levels.]
